Parents visa (Subclass 103)

The Parent 103 visa allows those parents to live in Australia permanently whose child is already settled in Australia as an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. However, the visa requires to have the sponsorship of child or another eligible sponsor in Australia.

Requirements for the 103 Parent Visa


You must:


- Have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
- Must pass the Balance of Family Test (there are more eligible children living in Australia than in any other country).
- Must meet income requirements to be able to cover your financial expenses
- Must be willing to lodge an Assurance of Support (AoS) bond at the Services Australia Assurance of Support. The AoS is meant to cover any financial burden
that you may palace on the Australian health and welfare system.
- Not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 870) visa when apply for this visa.
- Must be offshore when the Subclass 103 visa is granted.
You can include members of the family in the application when lodged. You’re required to include details of all members whether they are migrating or not.
All family members must meet health and character requirements, even they are not coming to Australia might also have to meet health and character requirement.
Any applicant who is eligible for 103 visa is eligible for Contributory Parent Visas (subclass 173 or subclass 143) if she or he is happy to pay more.
