This is a permanent visa for people who have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in an eligible field. To qualify for the global talent program, you must show that you are one of the best within your field of expertise. Moreover, you have to demonstrate that you will benefit Australia either economic or social or cultural or to raise Australia's academic, artistic or sports standing internationally
To be eligible for a Global Talent Visa, you must:
- Either be in or outside Australia when you apply and grant this visa
- Have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in one of the following areas:
- a profession
- a sport
- the arts
- academia and research
- Have exceptional and outstanding achievement and be currently prominent in your field
- Have a nominator with a national reputation in your area of talent who is:
- an Australian citizen,
- an Australian permanent resident,
- an eligible New Zealand citizen,
- an Australian organisation
- Demonstrate that you would be able to find work in your field in Australia, or become independently established in your field in Australia.
- Provide evidence of having at least functional English. You must pay a second instalment of the visa application charge if you do not have
- Be ineligible for this visa if you have ever had a visa cancelled or refused in Australia
