Training Visa (subclass 407) is a temporary visa issued to individuals who are attending a work training course in Australia. The training course can be focused on improving your skills for your current occupation or field of study in higher education, or a professional program.
Be eligible for this type of training visa in Australia, you must be:
- Temporary activity Sponsorship；
- Nomination application by an approved sponsor；
- Visa application or Invited letter (if your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government institution)；
- At least 12 month relevant work experience in relation to the nominated skill occupation;
There are 3 types of occupational training covered by this visa:
- Occupational training required for registration；
- Occupational training to improve skills in an eligible occupation on the skill occupation list；
- Occupational training for capacity building overseas. This includes overseas qualification, government support or professional.；
Financial support
You will need to be able to financially support yourself while in Australia. You will need to be able to financially support accompanying family members.
Health insurance and character requirements
- You are required to have proper health insurance while in Australia.
- You must meet character requirements.
The Training Visa (Subclass 407) allows you to:
- visit Australia to complete a workplace-based training;
- Pass Australian associated skill assessment for various migration options;
- Bring your family member to Australia;
- Travel in and out of Australia as many times as you want.
